During this Year of Consecrated Life, the Sisters of Christian Charity observed renewals and new beginnings at Mallinckrodt Convent, Mendham, New Jersey.
Renewing their vows August 14 in the Chapel of Mary Immaculate were (back row) Sisters Maria Claire Nagle, Mary Grace Harazim, Maria Angeline Weiss, Marie Jose de la Rosa, (front left) Mary Peter Tartaglia, and Mary Amata Reifsnyder. Sister Sophia Marie Peralta renewed vows in Argentina, where she is ministering to youth in the congregation’s Uruguay/Argentina Unit.
On August 16, Sisters Clara Kim, Bridget Harakal, and Mathilde DeLucy professed first vows during a Mass at which Benedictine Abbot Richard Cronin of St. Mary’s Abbey, Morristown, was the main celebrant.

On August 21, the Sisters of Christian Charity observed the 166thanniversary of the order’s founding by Blessed Pauline von Mallinckrodt, with a Mass celebrating the sisters’ seventy-five, seventy, sixty, fifty, and twenty-five years of faithful service. Bishop Robert Gainer of the Diocese of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was the main celebrant with fourteen priests concelebrating. During the liturgy, the jubilarians renewed their vows as Sisters of Christian Charity. After a festive meal, the women in initial formation presented a program in gratitude for the sister jubilarians and for the outgoing leadership team.

The Rite of Investing into the novitiate took place the evening of August 20. Postulant Alyssa Thorley, of Bethlehem Pennsylvania, now Sister John Paul, was received into the community, and welcomed by Sister Maria del Rosario.
